What’s better than a free hat pattern? 12 more free hat patterns! Our popular Year of Hats is back, featuring Germantown DK.
October's design is Rosalind by our very own Courtney Kelley. Inspired by the intricate knitting styles of Bavaria, the twisted stitch cables in Rosalind are a little maze of traveling stitches! Worked in the round from the bottom up, this delightful hat is a perfect way to practice working from charts, cables (with or without a cable needle!), and memorizing stitch patterns.

This hat is so cute! I have completed one already, and I am now on my second one, because it was so fun to make and looks so great! I love that it was generously free, as well. Thank you, Courtney, for such a well-written, easy to follow, and great-looking pattern!
I enjoy working the cables, this project will move slow because I’m using color dark navy, almost black. So far I worked the rib and second row of cables.
I love the cables. I like my hats to completely fit the top of my head.So I will be altering the brim and not knitting as many rows.
I haven’t started knitting it yet but my granddaughter wants one!
Thank you for this beautiful pattern!
