Our Yarns

Collapsible content

Where are your yarns made?

The short answer is: all over the world! We firmly stand behind all of the products that we develop or distribute. If we have not been able to visit the mills in person, we have worked very closely with the employees to ensure a quality product that has been made to the highest environmental and social standards possible.

Many of the BC Garn Yarns that we sell are GOTS Certified, and are milled in Italy, Turkey, and Peru, among other countries.

Lucky Tweed is made in Donegal, Ireland.

Germantown is made in North Carolina, USA

Most Navia yarns are milled in Turkey.

Do you have a storefront?

Yes! We have a warehouse store in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. We are open a t231 Mt Pleasant Ave, Philadelphia, PA, 19119, M-Sa 10 am-6 pm. If you can’t make it during that time or don’t live in Philly, you can view our list of retailers here.

Do you sell online?

We do! We have items for sale in our online shop – all of the yarns we carry, enamel pins, tote bags, and notions, Soak, and from time to time we offer other products that we absolutely love and cannot live without.

We encourage you to visit your LYS whenever possible! Shops that carry Kelbourne Woolens products and the yarns we distribute can be found here.

Does my LYS carry your yarns?

We sell our yarns to local yarn shops (LYS) all over the world, and distribute BC Garn in the U.S. and Navia in N. America.

You can find a list of LYS that carry Kelbourne Woolens, BC Garn, and Navia yarns here.

What does "GOTS Certified" mean?

GOTS Certification means that our warehouse is certified by theGlobal Organic Textile Standard. We follow best practices for the environmental and social standards. Many of the BC Garn lines that we carry are also GOTS certified, meaning the full line of production is certified. Read more about GOTS Certificationhere.

Can I order from you online?

Yes you can! We have an entire wholesale website exclusively for our retailers. If you don’t yet have a login, fill out the form here and we’ll get you set up asap!

I don't understand charts. Help!

We have many tutorials dedicated exclusively to working from charts:

Six: Alternate Colorways

Can you help with a specific pattern?

Yep! We’d love to help you with any questions you may have. A good starting point is our Tips and Tricks here. On that page, you will find a large variety of detailed photo tutorials covering a wide variety of topics such as seaming with mattress stitch, proper blocking techniques, or how to cable without a cable needle.

If you have a specific pattern related question, don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact form here, or email us directly at info@kelbournewoolens.com

I think I found errata. What do I do?

Although all of our patterns are carefully tech edited, test knit, and copy edited, mistakes do sometimes slip through. We are as frustrated by mistakes as you are and make every effort to update patterns as quickly as possible.

If you believe you have found an error in one of our patterns, please contact us at info@kelbournewoolens.com, and we will do our best to remedy the situation as soon as we are able.

Known pattern errata is listed in alphabetical order here.

Will you help me change the pattern gauge/size/stitch motif?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide individualized support outside of the specified gauge or finished measurements in the pattern, or write out chart instructions line by line. We strongly encourage you to use the suggested yarn or yarn weight in the pattern and knit a gauge swatch in order to achieve the best result.

Please see our chart FAQ for more assistance in working from charts.
