Description

The December pattern for the Year of Gifts is a pair of cosy textured mittens knit in Kelbourne Woolens Camper. The Amaryllis Mittens are knit flat in pieces and then joined at the slipped stitch edge using a single crochet chain. This construction creates a firm, secure accessory designed to last.

• 2 skeins of Camper in Orchid Heather

• 2.5 or 3 mm crochet hook

Good workhorse of a yarn!

I don’t knit with Bulky weight usually, but wanted to make some heavier shawls to throw on in winter. Germantown Bulky was an affordable choice and I like the consistency of yarn thickness throughout. The fact that it’s 100% American makes it stand out in these days of shifting tariff rates.

Perfect for winter knits

Love the colors and texture of Erin. I’m knitting the Daingean Pullover by Kate Osborn, co-owner of Kelbourne Woolens. The pattern is featured in Farm & Fiber Knits, 2024. The knitted fabric is substantial and holds it’s shape. Erin feels like it has a high bulk to weight ratio, so the knitted sweater is not overly heavy, but it will be very warm.

I am so happy that I finally started a project in Germantown yarn, it was long overdue! I am so so happy with how this yarn is knitting up.
