Finishing a new handmade garment is one of life's great satisfactions. Sometimes, a quick sweater is needed to feel accomplished, but other times the process is just as thrilling as the product itself.
I recently dug out the Cricket pullover I'm making in the subtle stunner, night. For the sweater, I'm using the numbers from Eyre converted to work flat and the general plan is to end up with a simple, slightly cropped basic pullover with a crew neck and raglan sleeves. This is very much a process knit as much as it is about the final product; the knitting is relaxing, the fabric is divine, and I will most likely finish right around the time that cooler weather hits again.
Thinking about my sweater got me wondering what other projects I could cast on this spring using two of my favorite fine-gauge sweater yarns, Cricket and Camper. You, too, could cast on now, enjoy the process as you work throughout the warmer months, and have something stunning completed in time for fall!
Cricket Pattern Ideas
Cricket's slightly rustic nature and tweedy colors would pair spectacularly with the leaf motifs of this beautiful design. Go green with pine, or subtle with cream.

The combination of pattern - texture, cables, and lace - really appealed to me when I saw this design by Isabell Kraemer. This make would definitely as much about the process as the product!

Colorwork yokes are having a moment right now, but I love the idea of an alternative stitch pattern at the yoke of a pullover, this time a leaf lace that grows as you increase for the yoke.
A classic ribbed beanie with unique crown detailing: fun to knit, even better to wear!
I love the weaving-inspired motif on the top of the hand of these colorwork mittens.
