It’s a new year and about time for a new year-long-knit-a-long pattern series from Kelbourne Woolens!
What’s better than a free hat pattern? Twelve free hat patterns, of course! This year we’re releasing a new,
free hat design each month here on the blog made in Germantown. Germantown is the newest yarn to the Kelbourne Woolens family. It’s a soft, durable, 100% N. American Wool with ample yardage at an uber affordable price point.
This year we’re indulging our hat obsession. Hats are an easy commitment, provide a canvas ready for experimentation and teaching, and make great gifts! As an added incentive to jump on the Year of Hats bandwagon now, you’ll have a pile of giftable hats ready by next winter!
All patterns are designed by the Kelbourne Woolens Team
and some guest designers. We’re exciting to partner with a few of our favorite designers who are just as into the hat craze as we are, but you’ll have to wait and see who they are - we don’t want to spoil the surprise!
Each pattern PDF contains all the information you have come to expect from Kelbourne Woolens: clear, concise instructions, quality photographs, and tutorials and tips throughout.
The first design is the
January Hat by our very own Courtney Kelley!
The
January Hat is full of cabely bobbley goodness and features integrated ribbing, large diamond cables, and many, many delightful bobbles. A pompon tops it all off and a cute custom KW tag completes the look.
In conjunction with the release of the designs, we're also offering limited kits that include a custom leather tag, yarn for sewing the tag on (in both contrast and matching colors), and one skein of Germantown in the recommended color. Ask for it at your favorite LYS!
