What’s better than a free hat pattern? 12 more free hat patterns! Our popular Year of Hats is back, featuring Germantown DK. February's design is Umbriel by Courtney Kelley. The astute among you may recognize it as a finer weight version of her very popular Wister Hat from our Year of Bulky Hats! Umbriel begins with a classic long tail cast on, a simple spiral slip stitch pattern is worked for the body, and integrated decreases shape the crown. As will our other hats, a pom pom tops it all off and a custom KW tag completes the look.

Kate and Courtney met while working in a local yarn store in Philadelphia, PA; Courtney was a new mom and Kate was in her final year of grad school. Together they founded Kelbourne Woolens at Kate's kitchen table, and have been working side by side ever since.
