The always hilarious and talented Sonja described me on Instagram a little bit ago as the "hat queen", a title I gladly wear with pride. Looking back, I think I have designed at least one hat for every seasonal collection (and don't see a point in stopping any time soon). Of course, as someone who can't stop designing hats, I had to make two for the Scout Collection.
The cable pattern in Portage is just interesting enough to keep you going, but not so insanely detailed or complicated that you lose your place or constantly have to check the chart. I would highly recommend it for someone new to cabled charts or an experienced knitter looking for a nice portable project with a guaranteed excellent end result.
And, as you have come to expect with Kelbourne Woolens patterns, the Portage PDF has three embedded links to tutorials to aid you with any skills in the pattern you may need a little help with:
I wore my Portage sample on our trip to the Faroe Islands last week with Jaime and Amber from Fancy Tiger Crafts, and it was the perfect accessory for all of our wonderful outdoor adventures!
