Scout
Scout
Description
A DK weight 2 ply heathered wool designed with classic knitting and crochet in mind, Scout is yarn for the sake of yarn. Perfect for garments, Scout is put up in a generous 100 gram, 274 yard hank. It is unfussy, beautiful, high-quality, and comes in a gorgeous color palette. The wool in Scout is a cross between Corriedale and Merino. It is not as soft as Merino, but it is stronger and adds durability to the yarn. Scout is also unique in that many colors are heathers, meaning multiple colors are pre-blended prior to spinning to create shades with a lot of depth and variation.

from 99 reviewsI've been looking for cotton the source of which is knowable and which hasn't gone through a mercerization process. So I was really excited to find Skipper. The palette is lovely, and the cotton itself is a joy to work with, producing a gorgeous fabric.
Easy pattern. Classic style to wear with a blazer or by itself. Slim styling for all figure types.
Camper is a beautiful yarn, in terms of the feel and color. It’s a joy to work with.
I think the pattern is absolutely perfect. I am interested in easy construction with classic and fashionable results.
I am completely happy with my purchase. I will be looking forward to purchasing new patterns in the future. Lovely, company to work with.
Thank you so very much
Ok I'll be upfront - this yarn is not next-to-skin soft. Its RUSTIC. That said, I knit this into a cardigan (the winter sweater) and it worked fantastic. It's warm but surprisingly light weight for a bulky yarn. And the stitch definition is amazing, even for the darker colors. Highly recommend for knitting outerwear.
This is such a beautiful yarn! The colors are amazing and because it is merino the finished garment blooms and softens into magical merino fluffiness. Tweed that isn’t scratchy is a delight to knit and wear!
Soothing and calming fragrance I love it !
I love this yarn! I do alot of test knitting for knitwear designers. This is the third sweater pattern test I have used Scout for this year. It knits up beautifully and the result is a lovely lightweight garment. I guess I’d have to call it my go-to yarn!
Great yarn first introduced to me at an LYS on the Steel City (Pittsburgh) Yarn Crawl.
Colorway Fog. Finished a Felix Pullover right before Thanksgiving last month and love the yarn. Easy to work with and not scratchy-and warm. The thistle colorway I got from KW is waiting to be something special. Love the colorway-waited a long time for it!
Not sure if my prior review correctly listed the “stars”.
This is definitely a 5-Star yarn!!!
I am finishing the Camper sweater and love how it looks, how the pattern works, the feel and weight of the yarn; so I have had my eye on the Popcorn sweater as the yarn is beautiful as well as the fullness of the sweater which I will soon start to knit.
Kelbourne Woolens Lucky Tweed is the best yarn I have ever used. I made Thea Colman's Dark and Stormy. After blocking it looked very professional. All the stitches were smooth and even.
Beautiful light weight yarn at an amazing price. I can feel the quality while the project is still in progress. Will buy again.
This yarn is a gorgeous lofty and soft tweed yarn. The color I choose was a deep saturated color with pretty contrasting flecks !
Very cute sweater pattern with easy to understand instructions. Although I’ve never knit a sweater from top down, I’ve read thru the pattern and should have no problem knitting. I have several Courtney Kelly patterns and love them all!
Made by knitters, for knitters
Kate and Courtney met while working in a local yarn store in Philadelphia, PA; Courtney was a new mom and Kate was in her final year of grad school. Together they founded Kelbourne Woolens at Kate's kitchen table, and have been working side by side ever since.
