Light, Lovely Lino: Linen for Summer Knits!

Summer knitting—it’s a thing that people do, and we do a lot of it here at Kelbourne Woolens. We are all-seasons knit (and crochet) wearers, so when we come across timeless, simple summer basics we take note. Today we’re talking about BC Garn Lino and several gorgeous, wearable Eileen Fisher-esque tops that will have you reaching for your knitting needles.

Lone Kjeldsen released several summer tops in BC Garn Lino that we’re calling the “Hør Series” and we love them all!

Fun Fact: “Hør” means linen in Danish.

Hør No. 5 by Lone Kjeldsen

Hør No. 5 (shown above) is a stripy, nautical little top that is worked from the bottom up with visually compelling saddle shoulder shaping. We love the way the stripes line up along the shoulder. Pair it with your favorite shorts and a pair of top-siders and you’re ready to set sail.

Hør No. 2 (shown below) is a quick, bottom up knit worked in all-over nubbly texture stitch and has sweet finishing touches for the perfect summer tee. It’s so versatile, but we’d like to see it over a breezy summer dress or skirt with a long necklace.

Regina Moessmer is one of our favorite designers for BC Garn yarns, and her Lino designs are no exception!

Lido by Regina Moessmer

The Lido top (shown above) is a top-down knitting extravaganza! If you are looking for a knit with interesting construction and a fun stitch pattern then this is the top for you. It’s got set-in sleeves worked from the top-down along with a twisted stitch, lace panel in the center front. This is one of those projects that will keep you engaged and racing to the finish line.

Looking for the mindless, top-down summer top of your dreams? Then check out Regina’s Lino-T! It’s a top-down raglan construction with no-frills. It’s a super wearable layer to pair with your favorite summer skirt or linen pants. It’s perfect for cool nights by the shore and summer woodland retreats.
