Germantown Colors: 295 cream

Germantown is a classic American made yarn. In fact, it is a revival of the very first commercial American yarn! This 100% North American non-superwash worsted weight wool is spun and dyed in North Carolina. Germantown is known for its softness, bounce, stitch definition, and wide range of vibrant colors perfect for both traditional and modern projects.

An icon of American craft, Germantown was developed in Philadelphia in the early 1800s. Synonymous with a good quality worsted yarn, Germantown is 100% grown and manufactured in the USA. We are proud to be a part of Germantown's long history of American crafting.

The One

This is the one I've been looking for - substantial but kind to the skin. Knits colorwork or cables with nice definition. And finally, it DOESN'T PILL. I have, of late, knit with some other yarns, quite nice and expensive, been very pleased with the final product, and then three or four wearings later...crap...the dreaded pilling. I've knit three sweaters in Germantown and they wear like a dream. I even exercise in one and the underarm area has held up spectacularly. 5 out 5 stars. Would recommend.

Made by knitters, for knitters

Kate and Courtney met while working in a local yarn store in Philadelphia, PA; Courtney was a new mom and Kate was in her final year of grad school. Together they founded Kelbourne Woolens at Kate's kitchen table, and have been working side by side ever since.
