Portage is worked in the round from the bottom up. After working a deep ribbed brim, the body is worked from charts. You will work the pattern repeat 6 times around. While it is not written into the pattern, you may find it helpful to place markers identifying the pattern repeat. Integrated increases are incorporated into the cable and rib pattern.
Integrated decreases shape the crown; change to double pointed needles when the circumference of the hat is to small to fit on the circular needle.
