Designed in Erin, the Westport Pullover by MJ Wilms is an allover cable knit sweater inspired by classic Irish Aran knit sweaters. It has the look of a pullover than is meant to be worn when wandering around the Irish countryside, yet has the spirit of a hard-wearing work garment due to the chosen yarn.
Westport is worked top-down and in the round once the front and back are joined. The construction is a modified dropped shoulder, with short-row shoulder shaping for a more modern fit.
Erin is our authentic bulky weight Irish heather made in Donegal, Ireland. This yarn is a hearty blend of 60% fine Irish wool and 40% New Zealand wool put up in a 100 gram, 158 yard (145 meter) hank.
We love how Erin captures the essence of Ireland's rich knitting heritage. In fact, the color palette was designed reflects the beauty of the Irish countryside. This is the yarn for making your grandpa’s favorite cardigan, a hearty pair of mittens, or a rugged pullover to wear in lieu of a jacket.

Kate and Courtney met while working in a local yarn store in Philadelphia, PA; Courtney was a new mom and Kate was in her final year of grad school. Together they founded Kelbourne Woolens at Kate's kitchen table, and have been working side by side ever since.
