I am as much of a sucker for an intricate cable as I am stranded colorwork, and the Compass cowl is awash with a plethora of cable panels designed to keep you cosy all season long.
Compass is designed in two sizes, a larger version (pictured) requiring two skeins, and a smaller version that only calls for one skein of Kelbourne Woolens Scout. Both have you cast on using a long tail tubular cast on, and a matching tubular bind off. True to form, after working a ribbing, you work integrated increases in order to accommodate the differing gauge of the cables.
I happened to be wearing one of the (ahem, many) pairs if earrings I have made by our dear friend Lila, and when it was clear this shot needed a pop of color, I immediately put them on the model. Improv styling FTW!
