For my swatches, I worked the Meadow held doubled on both US 3 (3.25 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm) needles.
Pattern: Basic Set-In Sleeve reverse stockinette stitch pullover. Garter Stitch cuffs and hem, somewhere in between crew scoop neck. Pattern TBD.
Needles: US 3 (3.25 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm).
US 3 / 23 sts and 32 rows = 4" (10 cm).
US 4 / 21 sts and 31 rows = 4" (10 cm).
I prefer the fabric on the size 3 needle, so I'm going to use that size/gauge for the sweater. Next step is to search some patterns on Ravelry to see if there is a good match, or if I need to design my own. Now that I have settled on a needle size/gauge and color combination, I think I might also take the time to swatch some short rows to see if I want to incorporate those into a hem, which can be easily added into a pattern, even if I choose to use an existing design.
Once I have it all sorted, waiting until June to cast on will surely be the most difficult part of it all!
