The latest design in our Year of Bulky Hats is here!
The School House Hat is modeled after a cap Courtney’s mother wore as a schoolgirl in the 1950s, knit by her grandmother. While inspired by a hat for children, it’s also a perfect hat for the young-at-heart! This vintage style is super flattering with bangs, a curly shag haircut, or braids.
Knit in Courtney’s favorite color, cocoa brown, the School House Hat evokes those warm, fall-inspired feelings we love so much. And, bonus, if you want a toddler or kid’s version, just follow the same pattern using Germantown in the worsted weight!
Kelbourne Woolens Germantown Bulky (100% N. American Wool; 123 yds/100 gm skein): cocoa brown 240, 1 skein.
14 sts and 17 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st on larger needles, after blocking.

I’m not sure where I’m going wrong but when I finish the first set of wrap and turns and get to row 10 (K all stitches) my work looks like it’s inside out. I cannot see what I am doing wrong. Can you help? Thank you!
