I had the overwhelming pleasure of spending last weekend at Camp Workroom Social, a 4 day sewing intensive extravaganza in the woods of upstate New York. Besides the extraordinary experience of making my own pair of jeans (more on that later…but I am obsessed!), it was the most perfectly perfect fall weekend filled with crisp leaves, cool nights, hot tea, hikes in the woods, and cosy sweaters.
Interweave Crochet published their fall issue last month, and it is full of gorgeous designs perfect for your very own weekend in the woods – or if you’re not the woodsy type, they’d also be great for a cosy night at home drinking cocoa watching a movie). Two pieces included in the issue, the Pie Bake Cardigan by Natasha Robarge, and Wheatfield Cabled Capelet by Bonnie Barker, are designed using Scout, our heathered 100% wool yarn designed with sweaters in mind.
Crocheted seamlessly from the top down, the Pie Bake cardigan is designed to fit and flatter every body shape and size. Sinuously winding cables travel down the center back and also frame the front, creating flattering vertical lines.

As the weather turns cooler, we’re often looking for the perfect piece to throw over our shoulders to warm up. This is it! Worked from the top down, it’s a staple piece you’ll be reaching for all through the season.
