Laura Chau Collection Tips + Tricks

All of the patterns in the Laura Chau Collection are designed and written to be clear and easy to follow with enough interest to keep you motivated throughout the project. Along with tutorials to help you as you're working on your project, we also added a new finishing skill to our Tips and Tricks page, the Sewn Bind Off.

The Sewn Bind Off is featured in the Mackenzie River cowl, but it can be used anywhere you want a firm, yet stretchy edge. You can vuew the tutorial below, or via our tips and tricks page. Enjoy!

SET-UP / Cut your working yarn, leaving a tail about three times as long as the width of your piece. Thread the end with a darning needle. You will be working from left to right across the work.

STEP 1 / Insert your needle into the first two stitches on the right hand needle purlwise.

STEP 3/ Repeat Steps 1-2 across, keeping yarn behind and above work.

You may find it helpful to adjust the tension of the sewn stitches as you work, rather than wait until the end. This will especially hold true if you are binding off a large number of stitches.
