Knitted Cast On

A knitted cast on provides a sturdy edging, and is easy to work as well! Use a knitted cast on when you need to cast on stitches during the course of your project, such as casting on thumb stitches for a mitten.

Step 1 / Make a slip knot on your left hand needle.

Step 2 / Insert your right hand needle into the first stitch on the left hand needle as if to knit.

Step 3 / Knit the stitch.

Step 4 / Slip the stitch from the right hand needle to the left hand needle.

Repeat Steps 2-4 until the required number of stitches have been cast on.
