Linette and I are about 75% of the way done with our Killybegs cardigans! I love how quickly Arranmore knits up. It practically knits itself! True, we started this KAL back in early December but between holidays, family obligations, teaching, and photography gigs, we don’t have that much free time to just relax and knit. I’m quite pleased with our progress, and I love that we are keeping up with each other as well!
These are our pieces pre-blocking. Full disclosure, LInettes left front piece is finished but at home. My left front piece looks a bit long, doesn’t it? Hard to tell until the pieces have been blocked to the measurements. You might also notice an oblong hole in my front piece. I’m modifying my cardigan to have pockets. Look out for a post detailing my pocket mods before the end of the month.
The verdict is in: I made my left front piece too long. I need to rip back to before the armhole shaping and take about a half an inch, or 3 rows, out. Luckily, that is only about an evenings worth of work, maybe less.
Heads up! Linette and I will be at knit night at Slip Knot in Newtown Square, PA next Wednesday night, Jan 25th. Stop by if you are in the area and bring your knitting!
