Color Stories: New Colors of Acadia

By Meghan Kelly on September 20, 2016July 5, 2022

This color board had a little bit of a different inspiration. Instead of coming up with a theme and choosing images that reflected that theme, I wanted this month’s story to highlight all of the new colors of The Fibre Co. Acadia, as the palette of six colors works to wonderfully well together.

To find my images, I researched the color names and chose a bunch of interesting photos.  Instead of adhering to the photos that were closest in color to the skeins, I chose photos based on their focus, composition and how visually interesting they were.  Lastly, I arranged them in a rainbow sequence for immediate impact.

These saturated pops of color really brighten the Acadia palette.  I have been wanting to make myself the Baker Island Hat and I think it would look great in Orange Storm or Rosebay.

A bright hat to wear in the fall is a great way to celebrate the changing of the seasons while also being stylish. What will you make in the new colors of The Fibre Co. Acadia?

Happy Knitting!

I’m knitting the hiker’s waistcoat (a free pattern) and am stymied when it comes to shaping the neck in the back section. I’ve got 8 stitches on the right needle and the rest are on a holder. It says: " BO 4 (4, 5, 5, 6) sts at beg of next row. BO rem sts. (Does this mean to bind off all 8 stitches on the needle?) It continues: "With RS facing, rejoin yarn to rem sts (does this refer to the stitches on the holder?) and BO center 19 (21, 21, 21, 21) sts, work in patt to end."
    Thanks in advance!
