And just like that, it’s winter. We haven’t seen snow yet here in Philly, but it is cold and I think the forecast says snow is on the way. Freshly fallen snow is so magical and pretty. It changes the landscape and makes even familiar locales look different. As wonderful as snow is (at first), it’s the winter wildlife that I find really inspiring. These animals adorn the landscape in all manner of feathered and fluffy, inspiring us to knit and crochet our own fuzzy coverings.
The quickest knits out there use bulky yarn like our dreamy soft Tundra. It’s blend of Alpaca, merino, and silk, make it a super soft, super warm yarn with lots of drape and a plush hand. Because of these qualities, accessories are a perfect match for this yarn.
The Fibre Co is getting ready to do a KAL with The Nordlandda Collection by Rachel C. Brown. They will be announcing the details this Wednesday, Dec 21, in the I Heart The Fibre Co group on Ravelry. I think the Fauske scarf is lovely and would look great in any of the colors inspired by my mood board.
The whole collection is up for grabs to knit in the KAL. What item (or items!) will you choose?
