Our two most "basic" items in the Acadia Collection, Echo Lake and Cadillac Mountain, were designed to be timeless wardrobe staples.
A good, basic pullover should be a staple in every wardrobe, and Echo Lake is just that. Courtney designed this pullover with the slubby texture of Acadia as the focus of this understated and incredibly wearable design. Knit it with 3 or 4 inches of ease for a comfy fit, perfect for the weekends, or with just an inch of ease for a more form fitting and figure hugging fit that can be dressed up.
Knit in pieces and seamed, with the neckband picked up and worked in the round, it is a great pattern for any level of knitter, even someone looking to knit their first sweater!
When designing Cadillac Mountain, I wanted to create a simple layering piece with a few key elements that made this classic garment stand out. Like Courtney, I let Acadia in stockinette be the main focus of the vest, and incorporated v-neck shaping and a small pocket to round out the design.
I used one of our favorite ribbings, a garter rib, for the edgings, but you could easily trade it out for a classic k2, p2 ribbing, or a totally different pattern. I'm also tempted to knit a sample of the vest for myself entirely in the broken rib.
With Cadillac Mountain and Echo Lake in your wardrobe, you're guaranteed to have classic, wearable pieces in your closet for life.
