Fancy Tiger Crafts wrapped up their Guernsey KAL last week. Since January 1, knitters have been delving deep into ganseys and guernseys and it has been great to watch everyone’s progress on Instagram.
Those of you who know me, know that I love the history of knitting. Traditional techniques and styles influence my designs so much, and I’ve knit a lot of gansey variations over the years. The Seascale gansey is my interpretation of a traditional gansey – a classic fisherman’s sweater of the British Isles. You can read more about my love of ganseys on the Fancy Tiger blog, where I wrote a KAL opening article about the gansey sweater’s form and history.
Congratulations to the KAL winners, @katewilkes for Best In-Progress Photo:
and @knitpurlspin for Best Finished Gansey Photo:
Congratulations to all who participated!
Happy (Gansey) Knitting!
