Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting is hosting her first ever shawl MKAL, and as luck would have it, the design features The Fibre Co. Cumbria!
In her designs, Alana is known for her intricate cable patterns, natural elements such as leaves, and simple yet effective lace. The combination of her natural aesthetic and The Fibre Co. Cumbria is sure to produce a gorgeous end result!
From Alana:
“The shawl pattern will be released in a series of four “clues” containing charted and written instructions… but no pictures!
The knit-a-long will begin with the release of the first clue on January 8th. Three subsequent clues will magically appear in your Ravelry library every Friday thereafter.
At the end of the knit-a-long you will end up with a warm cozy shawl that is 28” deep with a wingspan measuring 60”. Your finished shawl will be a wearable art piece full of textured cables, knitted leaves and lace. A nice sampling of many techniques all in one project!”
Based off of Alana’s hint that the shawl will have leaves, I’m leaning towards one of the greens/teals in the collection, maybe Eden Valley, as it is a nice mid-tone that should show the pattern well. Which one would you chose?
The PDF can be purchased and downloaded here and first clue goes out Friday – we can’t wait to see all the gorgeous finished results!
