We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break and your New Year’s Eve was as thrilling and ridiculous (or boring and low key) as you wanted it to be!
We’re gearing up to head to the Winter trade show for TNNA, The National Needlearts Association trade show. TNNA is a wholesale-only trade show, and we attend the show twice a year to share what’s new from Kelbourne Woolens + The Fibre Co. We have some exciting new products we’ll be introducing at the show, and we’re here to give you a sneak peek of what’s new for spring.
The Acadia Collection
Kelbourne Woolens has a new collection dedicated to The Fibre Co. Acadia. Using only the natural un-dyed colors, we have designed a group of highly wearable garments for today’s knitter. These are wardrobe staples; classic shapes, classic techniques, and perfect for every knitter’s wardrobe. Click here to download the Acadia Collection lookbook.
Cumbria Fingering
We’re very excited about our new yarn for the Winter/Spring season, Cumbria Fingering! A three ply blend of merino wool, British masham wool, and mohair in a lightweight blend perfect for garments and accessories alike.
Inspired by England’s stunning northwest region with its deep blue lakes and sheep-grazed fells and valleys, Cumbria Fingering is a lustrous blend of brown wool from rare breed sheep, fine South American merino wool, and mohair. The resulting light brown-grey shade is then over dyed creating lovely deep saturated colors. Cumbria Fingering is a classic yarn, perfect for color work, garments and accessories alike.
Cumbria Fingering is available in the same color range as our new yarn this past fall, Cumbria.

The Bristol Ivy Collection
Designer Bristol Ivy has designed a collection for Kelbourne Woolens using Cumbria and Cumbria Fingering.
This collection of six garments is a powerhouse!
I am an unabashed lover of vintage fashion and costume drama, especially those based in a time period, like the 1940s, where handknits took center stage. I was inspired by the thought of bringing those vintage, feminine shapes and lines together with clean, architectural details and modern proportions. This collection is the result! Six sweaters, all worked in the hardy, drapey, infinitely wearable Cumbria and Cumbria fingering, all with relaxed and flattering fits that harken back to the femininity and strength of the 1940s, and all with sharp architectural lines of ribbing and mesh to bring the details to the modern day.
The collection will be available in late January 2016. Click here to download the Bristol Ivy Collection lookbook.
TNNA Show Promos!
We’re participating in The Quest on the show floor for the first time this year. What is The Quest? Is it like a scavenger hunt for shop owners on the show floor. If you’re attending the show as a buyer you will be able to sign up for the Quest at the registration desk. You’ll receive a list of participating exhibitors, and when you visit their booth you’ll receive a treasure! Visit all the participating booths and you’ll be entered to win a fantastic prize basket filled with goodies from your favorite vendors. We’re bringing our keychain knit checks for our Quest treasure! For more info on the Quest click here.
We’re also participating in the new TNNA program, Buyer Bucks. One of the biggest issues a buyer faces when deciding to attend market is the cost of travel. “Buyer Bucks” are designed to help recoup some of those costs. Participating vendors are offering discounts on the show floor for attendees. We’re offering a free bag of yarn when you order every color in a line!
This year we are again participating in our favorite TNNA event, Sample It! We’ll have kits for two great projects, the Baker Street Hat featuring our new 100g hanks of Terra, and a kit for Laura Nelkin’s design Vesa in the four new colors of Road to China Lace! Sample It is a FREE event for attendees on Friday evening at 5:30. Don’t miss it!
If you’re attending the show, be sure to visit us in booth 435. We look forward to seeing you there!
