After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season it’s finally time to start thinking about some “treat yourself” knitting. From sweaters and hats to cowls and scarves, I’ve been piecing together what I plan on knitting for 2015 (now if it actually happens is a completely different story?!). Luckily for me, we received a copy of Curls, and I was blown away by the creative structure and elements featured within this publication.
To top it off, we’re featured in it! Hunter used The Fibre Company’s Road to China Light in Rhodolite for the Cerise wrap – and it looks pretty amazing.
Throughout the introduction of the book, Hunter describes his design process about finding the right shape and stitch pattern for every wrap. Here’s a little bit from Hunter:
“A pretty little stitch pattern caught my eye and I wondered how I might incorporate some increases while maintaining the pattern. After a bit of playing around, I found I had a rather interesting shape. A few hours later, I had a pile of swatches, a stack of scribbled charts, and (confession is good for the soul) a magical glint in my eye”.
What a lovely feeling to accompany a beautiful book. For more information on Curls and the Cerise wrap head on over to the Ravelry page, here. Read more about Hunter Hammersen on his blog, here.
