Knitter Project: Echo Flower Shawl

The Echo Flower Shawl by Jenny Johnson Johnen is a popular free shawl pattern inspired by traditional Estonian lace patterns. Can you believe it was Jenny’s first design? This elaborate lace pattern features a blossom edging with nupps for texture.

Recently Meghan, a lovely member of our Kelbourne Woolens team, got married. She knit this beautiful version of the Echo Flower Shawl using two skeins of Meadow in Queen Anne’s Lace. The natural off-white was a perfect accent to her vintage-inspired linen and silk dress.

Meadow is a great yarn for shawls. A soft and textured blend of merino, baby llama, silk and linen it has a slight slubby quality and blocks out wonderfully to show off the lace pattern.

Meghan finished this shawl on the day of her wedding, just hours before the ceremony! A knitting friend helped her to finish binding off. She did a wonderful job, it’s beautiful. Congrats Meghan
