Hannah Fettig is at it again, this time with a lovely motorcycle jacket-inspired cardigan designed in one of our favorite sweater yarns, Savannah.
From Hannah:” This top down cardigan can be worn three different ways – buttoned all the way up with a sculptural collar, partially buttoned with a wide collar or swingy and open. How will you wear it?”

In honor of the pattern release, we’re delighted to offer a giveaway of Savannah in the color of your choice to knit the Moto Jacket! So, grab a copy of the pattern, and leave a comment here stating your favorite color of Savannah and how you would weart the jacket – collar fully buttoned, collar opened, or as a swing coat. The contest will be open from today until Thursday, August 15th, midnight EST. Good luck!
My favorite color of Savannah is woodsmoke. I will wear my Moto Jacket with the collar fully buttoned, so it is sculptural.
What a great piece for fall!
I would knit the jacket in apple. It’s such a lovely spring color.
I would knit this in Slate. But can see more than one in my wardrobe.
I love the look of the fully buttoned Moto jacket, but it’s a hard call choosing between Woodsmoke and Cabernet. I guess I’d go for woodsmoke, but I can’t wait to see these colors in person.
Love! I’d wear it fully buttoned. Love that funnel neck. Perhaps a bit boring, but I’d love to make this up in natural to replace an old J.Crew moto-style sweater I have worn to death (it’s definitely past its prime)!
I would wear Moto Jacket it either fully buttoned or all the way open. I’m loving the looks of Savannah in Sage but there are a lot of great colors…
I would wear the motto jacket in all three style options. There are so many beautiful colours to choose from, but I would pick Cabernet as I don’t have any sweaters in a colour like that already.
I would wear it with the collar opened in the color bluegrass.
I would wear it buttoned up in the Slate colorway.
I’d knit it in Slate, because my soul is grey.
I would wear it collar opened and knit it in Cabernet – I love this pattern!
all buttoned up in Cabernet!
I love this so much- very like a RTW coat I have that I’ve wanted to remake. I would definitely have to make it in Slate or Denim
…and worn open
All buttoned up in Rum Raisin!
Beautiful sweater! Would wear all 3 ways, but maybe buttkned up mostly, in Cabernet
Lovely design and delicious yarn! I believe I would knit it in Cabernet (love that colorway so much I want to use it again!) and wear it all three ways depending on my mood. Thanks a bunch for the giveaway!
I would knit it in Persimmon (such a gorgeous colour) and wear it open…thanks for the chance to win!
Sycamore is such a classic color which can be for formal or casual attire. I would normally wear the Moto Jacket fully buttoned up to show off the clean lines and polished look of this hand-knit garment. If it’s a bit warm, I would unbutton it and wear it swing style to cool down a bit. This garment is so chic and versatile!

Love Hannah’s designs, love the Moto Jacket, and love Woodsmoke!
Definitely swingy and open. I love the bluegrass color, but for this project slate would probably be my choice.
I’d wear it buttoned, probably both all the way and with the collar opened. I think I’d knit it in Crepe Myrtle.
I think I’d wear it open or all buttoned. Persimmon keeps calling me when in see it at my lys so that would be my choice.
I would branch out and pick chambray or Cabernet. Something different than black. Stunning sweater from Hannah, yet again. I’d wear it swing coat style.
Such a great design and so many options. Would probably wear it open mostly and color slate to match the pattern and add versatility.
This is a great pattern! One of my favorites on Ravelry❤️ I’d wear it as a swing coat in the fall. Thanks for the chance 🙂
Gorgeous I love that collar! I’d wear it half up and down all asymetrical.
I’d wear it buttoned up w/ collar open in the bluegrass color. Gorgeous design!
I would knit a lovely cardigan in Cabernet and wear it with the collar open…
I would love to make a Moto Jacket in Sycamore. I think it would go perfectly with everything! And then I would wear it buttoned all the way up because I am always cold 🙂
I think it will be lovely in the classic Slate grey–maybe that is the color used in the sample? I would probably wear it buttoned all the way most of the time. Love that cowl neck.
I would likely wear it open, in Hickory. Love that soft, springish color.
I love it all 3 ways, but I’d probably wear it half open with the wide collar most of the time. My first instinct would have been to make it in Slate, but I actually think I’ll make it in Bluegrass, to give it a nice pop and brighten up my fall and winter:)
Of course, I love all the colors, but am completely wowed by Crepe Myrtle! This pattern is absolutely beautiful and I would wear it all three ways. However, I am guessing that I would wear it most often partially buttoned with the collar open. Congratulations on another great design!
Hannah had done it again! I would wear it open, and look classic in Woodsmoke.
I love this pattern! I will wear it buttoned up all the way and I am going to knit it in the Slate colorway.
Love this pattern! I would wear it all three ways, depending on my mood. Slate is the color I would choose.
This jacket is adorable! I’d wear it all three ways, but probably most often with the collar open. As for colors, there are so many I love: Denim, Seafoam, Crepe Myrtle. But for maximum versatility, I’d probably pick a lovely neutral like Sycamore.
Slate would be my go to. This is the dream fall bike ride sweater! Collar up mostly. Great design!
I will wear this completely buttoned up in Sage. This is a great pattern in a fantastic yarn, love!
I would wear this jacket open over a tshirt and jeans. I’d have to make it in Slate – love that color!
i’d love to do this one in Woodsmoke! perfect all buttoned up as a casual early fall jacket,
Oh, I would be so delighted to wear a slate-coloured full-on-buttoned version of this for fall. Perfect for keeping out some chills while riding my bike!
I’d wear it open in Slate or Sage.
Slate would be the most practical choice because I would wear this sweater-jacket all over town! I think I am a button-up-to-the-chin gal, but I know I’d try each of the ways. Thank you for the chance to win! This is a beautiful sweater design and I can’t wait to knit it!
So hard to choose! But I think slate or denim would win 🙂
Sycamore! I love how Hannah has it styled all buttoned up so the neck is like a cowl!
I think it would look great in crepe myrtle. I’d definitely would wear it buttoned up because I love a great, interesting neck because it’s almost like an accessory.
I head towards the simple… slate or sycamore, it’s hard to choose! And how to wear the sweater really just depends on the rest of the outfit, so… All!
Persimmon and buttoned all the warp. Very cool pattern.
I’m in love with the bluegrass colorway! Something cheery for fall. My husband calls this style of cover a "swacket," not quite sweater, not quite jacket. I’d wear it with the collar open until late at night.
I would wear it as a swing coat in the crepe myrtle colorway.
I’d wear it all buttoned up so I could feel that yarn on my neck. And I’d knit it in Cabernet.
OHH Lovely! I think I would knit this in woodsmoke. Its so earthy and deep. Love it! I’m thinking I’ll wear it with the collar open and when its super cold I’ll close it up c:
All buttoned up in Cabernet!
Definitely in colorway "Denim" but "Cabernet" is so beautiful as well… so maybe one in each! And how I would wear it would be dependent on my mood… and the weather! Such a gorgeous pattern with gorgeous yarn!
This jacket begs to be made in Hickory! I’m loving the buttoned all the way up look, and would love to try this yarn.
Gosh I love blues and I don’t have a cardigan in blue yet, so denim, but persimmon is so pretty too, and definitely all buttoned up!
There are so many lovely colors, but for the fall I’d go for a neutral – either natural or slate.
And I love it open!
Bluegrass and open all the way – so cool!
Denim! And I would wear it all the way buttoned up! Love this design!
Slate or sycamore. Yes I love gray. I would wear it with the top buttoned. Such a cute jacket!
Cypress or Persimmon ,and all buttoned up is the way to go for me. This is the perfect sweater to cradle a scarf around my neck on a brisk day in the mountains.
I like bluegrass with the front open.
I think Woodsmoke would look great! I’d probably leave the collar open, but I love it buttoned all the way up too!
I would wear this buttoned up no doubt!!
And while there are some dreamy colors of Savannah, I would actually love to make it in Natural and adorn it in Melissa Jean Design buttons!
I love this sweater!! Such a great looking pattern. I think I would go with Slate or Cabernet and would probably mostly wear it open. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love a good jacket, and have been itching to knit one for a while now. Buttoned up all the way. I would be psyched to knit this in Woodsmoke!
I am in love with this "moto-style" jacket and would wear it buttoned up all the way when I am out and about and for a more relaxes style (i.e. knitting at home) I would wear it open over light layers.
I would choose to knit the jacket in Slate as the subtle heathered tones would look awesome.
I think that I would wear the sweater mostly open (swing coat), but when it’s chilly, button it all the way up, or leave the collar open. Picking a favorite color is difficult, as I love so many of the colors, but here goes: bluegrass.
I really like the full button look, or the partial button option. Buttons!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I would wear this beauty as a swing coat but definitely sew on buttons. The color Slate would be my choice – I’m a huge fan of heathered gray!
The color slate is my choice and fully buttoned! Love the pattern and the yarn!
I would wear the cardigan open, in the color Crepe Myrtle.
Open and swingy in the luscious Pink Grapefruit!
I would love to make this in slate and wear it with the collar open. It is so cute and versatile!
such lovely yarn and a lovely pattern too! I would make it in Slate and wear the collar buttoned up.
Woodsmoke is such a beautiful colorway. I would make the Moto in Woodsmoke and wear it as a swing coat or with the collar open. This is such a versatile piece. I need it in my wardrobe!
I fell in love with "Chambray" and most of the time I would wear it collar opened 🙂
I would love to knit the Moto Jacket in the Woodsmoke color way. I think I would most likely wear this completely buttoned up with the collar draping down in the front.
I would use Woodsmoke or Slate – so pretty! And I would wear it buttoned! Love it’s versatility!
I love Sycamore and Persimmon.
