INTRODUCING: The Kelbourne Woolens Summer Sweater KAL

2014 is shaping up to be the year of the Knit-A-Long! It began with the Rosemont KAL, and we just finished our 2nd annual Meadow Mystery KAL, and we’re delighted to announce our next KAL: The Kelbourne Woolens Summer Sweater KAL!

Starting on Sunday, June 29th and ending on Friday, August 1st, we’ll all be knitting our sweaters for ourselves from the Summer Sweaters Collection. Throughout the course of the KAL, we’ll be sharing tips and tricks for knitting highly successful summer sweaters specific to our individual projects, from determining the correct length of yarn for completing your long-tail cast-on, to working perfect short rows, or mastering a few simple steps for finishing seams with a 3-needle bind-off.

Since there are six possible sweaters to choose from, and not every sweater utilizes the same construction methods and techniques, our approach to this KAL will be more casual. Instead of a step-by-step weekly calendar to follow, we’re going to treat this KAL more like a online interactive knitting circle, dedicating 1 or 2 posts a week to our progress and Tips+Tricks. We’ll still have a thread in our Ravelry group where we compile all of the related blog posts, and people can ask questions and share their projects along the way in our group and here on the blog. And, as always, we’ll be sharing our progress here on the blog and on instagram with the hashtag #kwsskal.

So, choose your pattern, pick your color of Meadow or Savannah, and get ready to Knit A Long with us!
