When knitting a sweater, whether it’s top-down, bottom-up or in pieces, the back can always be a daunting task. From plain stockinette stitch to an intensely cabled creation, the back of a garment can become a gorgeous focal point of the design. One sweater that showcases a beautiful back is the Dahlia Cardigan by Heather Zoppetti from the Fall 2011 issue of Interweave Knits. In this version, knit by Melissa, she chose to knit this cardigan out of Road to China Light in Malachite and the result is gorgeous!
The open cardigan also features a smaller version of the lace motif on the sleeve.
Seeing Melissa’s project makes us crave a Dahlia Cardigan for ourselves out of Road to China Light, but we can’t decide on what color. Thoughts?
