Independent Designer Feature: Meadow Edition!

By Kate Gagnon Osborn on May 31, 2013October 8, 2020

If you haven’t yet heard, we released a new lace-weight yearn, Meadow, a blend of 40% Merino, 25% Baby Llama, 20% Silk and 15% Linen, available just in time for the summer months!  In preparation for the yarn’s release, we gave a couple of skeins to a few of our favorite designers and friends Kirsten Kapur from Through the Loops and Hannah Fettig of Knitbot. Both took the yarn and made amazing designs featuring our new yarn and we couldn’t be more excited.

Typha by Kirsten Kapur is a gorgeous cowl that uses Meadow in both Cornflower and Prarie.  This Cowl is knit in the round and features a great transition from garter stitch to an elegant lace pattern.  This cowl can be made in the large version (shown above) or a smaller version both provide warmth without the unwanted bulk.

color chips

We played around with some colors, and came up with these additional combinations: A more monochromatic option featuring Aster and Pokeweed and then a neutral option featuring Fennel and Black Adder – but that’s just scratching the surface of color combinations and possibilities!

In addition to the lovely cowl designed by Kirsten, Hannah Fettig created mini versions of some of her favorite patterns out of Meadow and we can’t get enough of them!

HFCOL

Entitled Little Knitbot, Hannah’s patterns are sized to fit Children ages 2 to 12 years old and all three are available for purchase as a great e-book. With many sizes in each design only requiring one skein, the patterns are a great travel project for weekend trips to the beach or a quick project for those quiet summer nights.
