The January 2012 issue of Martha Stewart Living just arrived on Kate’s doorstep {you can read a little bit more about Kate’s obsession with Martha Stewart here + here} and we’re delighted to share two projects with you that feature Organik, The Purse Stitch Scarf and Adult Handwarmers.
The Purse Stitch Scarf is a long and lacy textured scarf knit out of Organik in Atoll. The pattern itself is deceptively simple, a one row repeat that creates a fabric with a lot of stretch, yet the placement of yarn overs and decreases helps to maintain its structure.
The handwarmers are simplicity at its best – the combination of Organik – the sample is worked in Lichen, a bright sunny yellow – and garter stitch creates a soft, lofty, bouncy and warm fabric, and the construction is perfect for beginners or those looking for a quick project with a lot of potential for both form and function.
With a long car ride for Kate and plane flight for Courtney on the horizon we’re both seriously contemplating throwing a few extra skeins of yarn into our bag to whip up some last minute gifts before the holidays come and go.
More information, including full instructions on how to knit both projects, are in the issue, so go grab your copy today!
