Knitter Projects: Gray Vine Yoke

Every once and a while a knitter blows us away with their creative use of yarn and design. The Gray Vine Yoke, a fingering weight version of the Vine Yoke Cardigan by Ysolda Teague knit by Rebecca out of Canopy Fingering in River Dolphin, is one of those projects!

Since Rebecca lives in south Florida, she knew that a worsted weight version (as written) of the design would, sadly, not get much use. As a result, after lots of swatching and calculations she modified the design to work with a fingering weight yarn knit slightly loosely at a gauge of 4.5 sts/inch in garter stitch.

The end result is a a really beautiful and flattering sweater with a lot of drape that is perfect for Rebecca’s climate, and we absolutely love that she took an existing design and modified it to suit her needs. Beautiful work, Rebecca!
