Our contributions to the magazine cover all of your accessory needs – legs, hands, head and neck.
The first project, designed by Courtney, is a pair of legwarmers. Aptly named Gansey Legwarmers and Knit out of Road to China Light, these legwarmers are inspired by traditional Gansey sweaters.
Gansey Legwarmers by Courtney Kelley*

• Finished Size: 11″ circumference and 17¾” long.
• Yarn: The Fibre Company Road to China Light: jade, 3 skeins.
• Needles; Sizes 2 (2.75 mm) and 3 (3.25 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
• Notions: Marker (m); tapestry needle.
• Gauge: 26 sts and 38 rnds = 4″ in patt on larger needles.
Next up, a pair of cabled mittens by Kate. The heavily cabled Kilronan mittens are designed to be unisex and knit out of the rusic looking and soft to the touch, Terra. The heavily cabled top of hand provides an extra layer of warmth and the stockinette stitch palm ensures a comfortable fit and feel while you’re out and about.

If you’re looking for a cowl perfect for all seasons, Courtney’s Surface Breeze Cowl is the perfect accessory. Knit out of Savannah, in a texturized ruched stitch, the Surface Breeze Cowl has a lot of dimension and structure.

And to top it all off, a hat designed by Kate out of Canopy Fingering. A compilation of two different countries and cultures, Kate designed this beret while on vacation in Patagonia, Argentina this winter. Inspired by the gorgeous weavings – both rugs and blankets – in her cousin’s home, a traditional Argentinian motif was modified into a geometric pattern and applied to the beret using the Estonian Roositud inlay technique.
