Courtney has a new design in the current issue of Vogue Knitting, oh-so-descriptively named #28 Lace Cardi (ravelry link). For ths design, Courtney created a trans-seasonal layering piece knit out of the versatile Savannah in a looser than typically recommended gauge.

The shrug/cardi has a really nice construction – the body is knit in one piece with sloped increased to shape the lower edge. After dividing and working the armholes, the shoulder is finished with a short seam. Both the ribbing for the sleeves and the collar are knit by picking up sts around the knit edge, and nice details such as mitred corners and short row shaping for the shawl collar create a professional, finished look.

As you can see – this cardi is quite lovely paired with a beautiful dress and accessories, but we also see it looking great with a tank top, jeans and flats.
