As we mentioned, our trusty little camera decided it did not have enough time to see all the sights in Pittsburgh, so it stayed to hang out for a little while. It has safely come back home to us (thanks, Michelle!), so we wanted to share photos from our fabulous weekend at Bloomin Yarns.
From the moment we got to the shop, we were so impressed with all of the effort that went into preparing for our arrival. There were samples – tons of samples – knit up and displayed in the windows and throughout the store, as well as two tables in the center dedicated to our yarns.
On Saturday, we taught a class on the Roositud technique as featured in the Yvette Roositud Beret (rav link). We have taught this class a few times and one of the most fun things about it is seeing all the unique and wonderful color combinations people are coming up with.
On Saturday evening, the shop hosted a book signing / meet and greet. We owe everyone who came a special “thank you,” as freezing rain and sleet was coming down for most of the day! On Sunday, we taught a Fair Isle class, based off of the Meritursas Beret from our first collection of for sale patterns. Sunday’s class was quite the feisty bunch, and they had a great time knitting up their berets!
Thanks again so much to Michelle and all of the wonderful staff at Bloomin Yarns – we loved coming to Pittsburgh and hope to visit again soon!
(From L to R: Kate wearing the Adelaide sample from the book, Michelle in her gorgeous Brigid (rav link) in Terra in Nettle, and Courtney in the Rhodes Point Gansey from the book).
