Lacroagh is worked in the round from the bottom up. The hat begins with a deep folded brim and the body of the hat is worked in a lofty, texturized broken rib. Decreases at the top shape the crown.

SPECIFICATIONS
YARN: The Fibre Co. Arranmore (80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% silk; 175 yds/100 gm skein): Kinnego Bay, 1 skein.
GAUGE: 15 sts + 26 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Mistake Ribbing patt on larger ndls, after blocking.
NEEDLES: 
1 – 16” (40 cm) US 7 (4.5 mm) circular.
1 – 16” (40 cm) US 8 (5 mm) circular.
1 – set US 8 (5 mm) DPNs.
NOTIONS: Tapestry needle, stitch marker.
SIZE: 17” (43 cm) width, unstretched, 13” (33 cm) length with brim unfolded.  
SKILLS: Knitting and purling in the round, decreases.
