A few notes on construction from the designer,
The hem of this poncho is worked flat in two pieces, then the pieces are joined and the rest of the body is worked in the round to the underarm. The work is divided at the underarm and the front and back are worked back and forth to the shoulders, with the fronts worked separately after the neck is shaped. The fronts and back are rejoined, then work continues back and forth in one piece from the center neck as the shoulders are shaped.
