One of the things I love about Crochet Summer is inspiring knitters to give crochet a try. If you're new to the craft, or returning to it after a long hiatus, here is a list of some of our favorite simple patterns to try out. Once you've mastered the basics, any of these designs would be within your reach.
Don't let the openwork pattern of Altair frighten you, it's a simple repeat that is easily mastered. The open, airy design is created by simply skipping stitches from the previous row, which will have you on the road to mastering more complex crochet patterns in no time.
These super cute Oma House Slippers are from the ebook Crochet with Mamachee. The pattern is also available as an individual PDF. Mamachee, aka Tara, is an avid crocheter with a ton of free and for sale crochet patterns that are as cute as they are easy to make.
These patterns, and many more, are great beginning steps in your crochet journey this summer. Check out the simple (and some are free!) easy crochet patterns available from Kelbourne Woolens here. Don't forget to share your projects with us on Instagram using the hashtag #crochetsummer2016, we love to see what you make. - CK
