Last year, at TNNA, Kelbourne Woolens and Knit Collage had booths back to back and we traded some yarn at the end of the show (one of the many perks of exhibiting at the trade shows!). I had no idea what I wanted to make with this amazing yarn, and it sat on my desk for many weeks while I pondered it's future. As the fall weather got closer, and the days darker, I remembered a poncho I knit years ago when working at Rosie's Yarn Cellar in Philadelphia. It was knit using Reynold's Blizzard, a super soft single-ply bulky blend of acrylic and alpaca. The basic shape was easy to knit, and we sold a ton of Blizzard that season! I had long ago lost the pattern, which was just a word document we printed off at the shop - this was pre-Ravelry days, my friends - but it was easy enough to recreate a similar version. And what fun it was! I hope you enjoy the new pattern, with a little bit of wacky glitz thrown in for good measure!
This pattern will be available at participating Yarn Shop Love stockists. If you are a shop and would like to participate, order four colors of The Fibre Co. Tundra for your shop this month! Tundra is ideal for this time of year, when quick knits dominate sales. Participating stockists will be updated on our website, the pattern page on Ravelry, and pinned to the top of our Facebook page for the entire month of December. If you're a stockist who would like to participate, give us a call or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here are some other color combos we like!
